Ski Mountains in the Midwest

Midwest covers 53 mountains across Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the Dakotas — modest vertical by national standards, but a serious ski culture built on cold, consistent winters and a lot of local loyalty. Boyne Mountain, Lutsen Mountains, and Granite Peak are the region's biggest destinations, while Afton Alps and dozens of smaller community hills fill out the rest on Indy and Ikon. Pass coverage runs mostly through Epic, Ikon, and Indy, and the region is a good reminder that plenty of serious skiers grew up racing and freestyling on a few hundred feet of vertical instead of a mountain range.
