About Appalachian Ski Mountain
Appalachian Ski Mountain has been the High Country's first ski area since 1962, sitting just outside Blowing Rock in the North Carolina mountains. Every one of its 13 slopes is lit for night skiing, and four terrain parks give freestyle skiers plenty to work with despite a modest 365-foot vertical drop. Two quad chairs, a double, a handle tow, and conveyor lifts keep things moving for a mostly beginner-to-intermediate crowd. It's independent of the major multi-resort passes, and 100 percent snowmaking coverage makes it a reliable early- and late-season option in the Southeast.
