About Cataloochee Ski Area
Cataloochee sits above Maggie Valley in the North Carolina mountains, about as far south as lift-served skiing gets on the East Coast. Eighteen trails and five lifts cover a 740-foot vertical, with lights for night skiing and a terrain park for the freestyle crowd. It's part of the Indy Pass, a natural stop for pass holders working through the Southeast. For a lot of skiers in the Carolinas and Georgia, it's the closest lift-served mountain there is.
