About Petzen
Petzen rises above the Jaun Valley in southern Carinthia near the Slovenian border, with a modern gondola lifting skiers from the valley floor at about 650 meters toward panoramic terrain near the summit. Seven lifts serve 21 trails across a big 4,295-foot vertical, with mostly beginner and intermediate pistes and traditional mountain huts along the way. It draws a lower-key crowd than the Kitzbueheler Alpen or Salzburg resorts, with sweeping views toward the Karawanks and Julian Alps from the top station. Petzen joined the Indy Pass for the 2026-27 season.
