About Obertauern
Obertauern is a purpose-built ski village in Austria's Salzburg region renowned as one of the country's snowiest resorts, with a high bowl-shaped layout that keeps nearly the whole area above 1,630 meters. Twenty-six lifts serve 76 trails and roughly 100 km of groomed runs across mostly beginner and intermediate terrain, and the compact, circular village layout lets skiers return to their lodging from almost any lift. Night skiing extends the day, and dependable natural snow has made it a long-running favorite among Austrian and German skiers. Obertauern joined the Indy Pass for the 2026-27 season.
