About Mt. Baker

Mt. Baker Ski Area, at the end of the Mt. Baker Highway in Washington's North Cascades, holds the world record for snowfall in a single season - 1,140 inches back in 1998-99. It's fiercely independent, skipping every major multi-resort pass in favor of doing its own thing, and the terrain reflects that: steep, snowy, and unpretentious, without the base-village polish of a big corporate resort. A magnet for powder hunters willing to make the drive out to Whatcom County.
