About Mad River Glen
In the Green Mountains above Waitsfield, Mad River Glen is America's only cooperatively-owned ski area — skier-shareholders vote on how it's run. It skips every multi-resort pass on principle ('Ski it if you can' is the tagline, not a marketing line), and still runs one of the last single chairlifts in the country alongside 60 trails and a 2,037-foot vertical. Grooming is deliberately light, preserving the old-school, natural-snow character the mountain is known for.
