About Hilltop Ski Area
Hilltop Ski Area sits at the edge of Anchorage in Far North Bicentennial Park, run by the nonprofit Youth Exploring Adventure since 1979. A triple chair, a platter lift, and a rope tow serve about six trails over 294 vertical feet, modest by Alaska standards but a steady training hill for local kids. The rope tow dates to 1962, originally powered by a surplus military troop-carrier motor, and still runs on the beginner slope today. It's an Indy Pass partner and sits next to the Karl Eid Ski Jump Complex.
