Eight Resorts Left the Indy Pass for 2026-27, and Indy's Blackout List Is Live

October 26, 2026 · News

Indy spent the summer announcing new resorts, but a handful of mountains quietly went the other way. We checked every Indy-tagged mountain in our directory against Indy's live site (its sitemap and region pages, 288 resort pages in all) and cross-checked the misses against news reports. Eight resorts are confirmed gone for 2026-27, and we have updated their pages. Indy now sits at 268 mountains on FirstChair after a second, deeper pass described below.

Where the eight went

Four moved to another pass, with two of them keeping their Powder Alliance membership:

The other four are on no multi-mountain pass at all and sell their own tickets and season passes:

The reporting comes from Storm Skiing Journal in September 2026. As always, check with a resort before planning a trip around a pass.

Indy's blackout list is live

Indy has published its 26/27 blackout and reservation sheet at indyskipass.com/blackout-dates-reservations. As of today it covers 38 resorts, and Indy still says it is compiling the list and asks you to check back before planning a trip. The common windows are Christmas and New Year (December 19 - January 3), MLK weekend (January 16-18), and Presidents' weekend (February 13-15), plus Peak Saturdays and Sundays (January 9 - March 6 and 7) at many resorts. Not every resort has every blackout, and some add their own dates. Indy+ has no blackouts, while Indy Base, AddOn Base, and Learn to Turn follow the sheet.

Smugglers' Notch does not appear on the sheet. It announced no blackout dates and requires advance reservations.

Snow Pass has blackouts after all

We previously reported that the new Snow Pass had zero blackouts. That was wrong, and we have corrected it. Gore, Whiteface, Belleayre, and HoliMont black out December 25 - January 1, January 16-18, and February 13-21, and Belleayre and HoliMont are Monday through Friday only. Oak Mountain, Ski Butternut, Blue Hills, and Big SNOW American Dream have smaller windows. Mountain Creek, Mount Southington, Pleasant Mountain, Ski Martock, Monarch, and Snow King have none.

Everything in one place

Our Blackouts page now has the corrected Snow Pass and Powder Alliance details, the Indy windows, and fixed links to the official Epic and Ikon pages. Powder Alliance does not publish specific holiday dates centrally, so we no longer show any.

A deeper check found 23 more

After the first sweep we went back through the rest of the Indy-tagged mountains that had no page on Indy's live site. Another 23 mountains in our directory still listed Indy as a pass that are not on Indy's 2026-27 roster. Most of them left in earlier seasons: Indy's resort pages for them disappeared between 2024 and mid-2026, and we had simply never caught it. Examples include Mt. Ashland, Sunrise Park Resort, Kiroro Resort, Meadowlark Ski Resort, and Tangram Ski Circus. A few, like Plattekill, never appeared on Indy's site at all, so the old tag was wrong from the start. All 23 now show no multi-mountain pass, and Indy's pass page reflects the new count. If a resort tells you it still honors Indy, trust the resort and let us know.

While we were in there we also merged duplicate listings for Leavenworth Ski Hill, Mt. Racey Ski Resort, and Dawn Mountain Nordic Centre. The old URLs redirect to the surviving pages.
