About Timberline Lodge
Built in 1937 on Mt. Hood's south flank, Timberline Lodge is a National Historic Landmark that also runs the longest ski season in the country, staying open close to twelve months some years. Its published vertical runs 4,540 feet from the top of the Palmer Snowfield down to Summit Pass, reached via a mix of chairlifts and a snowcat shuttle rather than a single lift. It's part of the Powder Alliance, giving passholders from sister resorts a discounted day here. The lodge itself, a two-million-visitor-a-year attraction, is as much the draw as the skiing.
