About Sleeping Giant Ski Area

Sleeping Giant has been a fixture near Yellowstone's East Entrance since 1936, a small, historic area 50 miles west of Cody along the North Fork Highway. It hasn't spun its lifts for skiing since the 2022-23 season, first sidelined by spring flooding and equipment vandalism, and it's now in the late stages of a sale to a buyer planning to turn it into a summer recreation park rather than reopen it for skiing. There's no pass affiliation to speak of. For now it's best described as a dormant ski area with an uncertain future.
