About Nakiska Ski Area
Nakiska, in Kananaskis Country west of Calgary, was purpose-built for the 1988 Winter Olympics, hosting all ten alpine skiing events on Mount Allan. Its lifts, Gold, Silver, and Bronze, still carry their Olympic-era names, and the Olympic flame still burns at the entrance. It's an Epic Partner resort today, a straightforward day trip for Calgary skiers rather than a lodging destination, with wide, consistently pitched runs left over from its racing pedigree.
