Crotched Mountain is the closest Epic resort to the Boston area, straddling Bennington and Francestown in southern New Hampshire. It's a full-access Epic mountain with a 1,016-foot vertical drop, welcomes uphill travelers on its posted policy, and runs Southern New Hampshire's only high-speed detachable quad, nicknamed the Rocket, to the true summit. It's a compact, convenient option for a quick after-work lap.
