About Cascade Welcome Center

Cascade Welcome Center sits along Route 73 between Keene and Lake Placid, home to a groomed network of cross-country ski and snowshoe trails through Adirondack forest with views of Cascade Mountain. The Adirondack Mountain Club ran it for years before financial pressures forced a closure through the 2025-26 winter; the property sold in mid-2026 to Noonmark Holdings, whose new owner has said he wants to keep it a Nordic ski destination and reopen the following season. Check locally before visiting - the rental shop, trails, and hours are all in flux during the changeover.
