About Showdown Montana
Showdown Montana is Montana's oldest continuously operating ski area, founded in 1936 in the Little Belt Mountains near Neihart, roughly an hour from Great Falls. One triple, two double chairlifts, and a conveyor serve 39 trails across 640 acres and a 1,400-foot vertical drop, with terrain running from wide-open groomers to glades. The area gets 200 to 240 inches of snow a year and uses no snowmaking, relying entirely on natural powder. Uphill travel is welcomed on designated routes. Small and often quiet midweek, it's a throwback to an earlier era of Montana skiing. Showdown Montana joined the Indy Pass for the 2026-27 season.
