In Alberta's Crowsnest Pass, Pass Powderkeg has run since 1938 as a not-for-profit, under the banner 'Friendly Neighbourhood Skiing.' Three lifts reach a 985-foot vertical across 27 trails, with lights for night skiing and a terrain park for the local crowd. It's about two and a half hours from Calgary and on the Indy Pass, the kind of hill where whoever's running the rope tow probably knows your name.
