About Cuchara Mountain Park
Cuchara Mountain Park in southern Colorado spent roughly 25 years as a dormant, lift-less hill before a volunteer-run nonprofit brought a chairlift back online for weekends in early 2026 — the first paying skiers there in a generation. It's on the Indy Pass, owned by Huerfano County and operated by the nonprofit Panadero Ski Corporation, with about 266 feet of vertical and more lifts planned as fundraising continues. It's as much a comeback story right now as a finished ski area.
