About Butternut
Ski Butternut sits on State Road just outside Great Barrington, in the Berkshires, and punches above its 1,000-foot vertical with 22 trails and 11 lifts, including a newer Jane's Quad. Two terrain parks keep freestyle skiers busy, and full snowmaking keeps conditions consistent all season. Starting in 2025, Ikon Base Pass holders get two bonus days here as one of Ikon's Bonus Mountains, though it isn't part of the full Ikon network. Otherwise Butternut runs as its own independent, family-friendly Berkshires hill.
