Black Mountain rises above the village of Jackson in New Hampshire's Mount Washington Valley — an Indy Pass hill with 1,100 vertical feet, about 45 trails and glades, and five lifts. Uphill travelers are welcome here, and the modest scale keeps the mood friendlier than the valley's bigger names. Staying in town?
