About Big Rock Mountain
Big Rock, on Mars Hill Mountain in far northern Maine near the Canadian border, is a nonprofit, community-run ski area with almost 1,000 feet of vertical across 26 trails and 3 lifts. It's on the Indy Pass and offers night skiing on part of the mountain — a rarity for such a remote spot. Being run by a local board rather than a corporate owner gives it a scrappy, keep-the-lights-on character typical of Maine's smaller hills.
