About Ober Gatlinburg
Ober Gatlinburg holds the distinction of being Tennessee's only ski area, perched above the town of Gatlinburg in the Smokies. It briefly rebranded as Ober Mountain after a 2022 ownership change, then switched back to the original Ober Gatlinburg name in 2026. The skiing is compact — 10 trails over a 600-foot vertical — but it's paired with a genuine mountain amusement park, tramway, and year-round attractions that make it more than just a ski hill. It's on the Indy Pass, an easy stop for pass holders touring the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast.
